Elaine Creasser National Women in Business Scholarship
By Allison Osman
Women’s Initiative Network has established the annual Elaine Creasser National Christian Business Woman Award to each year recognize a woman of integrity who has grown her businesses or excelled in her career, while giving the glory and credit for her success to God.
WIN named the award for Creasser because she, in conjunction with her son, developed her own multimillion dollar company and is unafraid to declare her career guided by God’s divine direction, according to WIN President Jane Boston. Tile Collection, Inc., is located in Charlotte, N.C. Elaine Creasser doesn’t give up. She described herself as someone who went from not having a lot growing up and who did not go to college to someone who owns a $13 million business. "I didn’t do that. God did that," said Creasser. "You have to be able to give Him glory. We have what we have through His grace."
For this year’s award submissions, Boston has designated a committee of judges, and applications are being accepted through March 13, 2009 at 5 p.m. Applicants are required to furnish information about their educational accomplishments, work history, business direction, financial performance, public service, and their faith. The winner will be featured in The Source magazine.
Interested candidates are asked to visit www.womensinet.com for a copy of the application and additional submission information. Download Application form - PDF file
Help The Women of St Lucia
Teresa Nardozzi – Coordinator for WIN
Women’s Initiative Network supports women on the small island of St Lucia in the West Indies in their desire to receive education for better employment. For Bibiana Morgan, who lives there, education is her passion today. After 25 years of higher learning and both being teachers at the collegiate, middle school and high school level, her and her husband felt the Lord calling them back to St. Lucia.
Bibiana works tirelessly to share the good news of Jesus Christ with a hurting community. Day in and day out, they counsel, encourage and lead people just like Trisha, Cantia and Julie to be the new creation God created them to be. But they can only do so much with their limited financial resources.
Maybe you were blessed with someone who assisted you along life’s way and lent a helping hand to get you where you are today. Maybe God has blessed you in your business and career, and you want to give back. You can be a part of helping these young women achieve their goals with just a small contribution.
If you would like to help fund a scholarship for a woman in St. Lucia, please e-mail office@womensinet.com for information regarding donations to the WIN St. Lucia Scholarship Fund.
